The Alvarez trademark was established in 1965, so I am guessing that the Silver Anniversary series was introduced to mark their 25th anniversary (in 1990?).

It has a "Silver Anniversary" inlay on the bound peghead. Tuners were chrome, bridge was rosewood. It came in either natural or sunburst finish. Recommended retail price was over $1000, but secondhand values are much lower (according to the BlueBook of acoustic guitars). The Alvarez Bi-phonic pickup was an optional extra. It was discontinued in 1995. |
