Information: 

In 2007 Alex Bishop left a degree in Aerospace Engineering to pursue the possibility of becoming a guitar maker in London. He studied for a BSc degreee in 'Musical Instruments' at London Metropolitan University, and graduated in 2010. Working for three years under the expert guidance of Nicholas Blishen, Norman Myall, Martin Bowers and Godefroy Maruejouls, he developed a flair for guitar making.  In September 2010 he was awarded the 'Cockpit Arts / NADFAS' award for designer-makers. In February 2011 he moved into a studio at Cockpit Arts in Creekside, Deptford. In 2016 Alex was awarded 'Artist In Residence' at The Pound Arts Centre in Corsham, near Bath, where he now carries out all of his guitar making as well as running workshops and jam sessions. Alex also teaches on the Intermediate level guitar making short course at London Metropolitan University.
