ATELIER Z started in 1989 when Kokichi “Johnny” Motohashi launched DAY'S CORPORATION and officially registered the Atelier Z trademark. Initially they focused on developing bass guitars and upright basses in collaboration with Tomohito Aoki and other pro-bassists. They also offer guitars and in 2019, the company name was changed to ATELIER Z Guitar Works.
