Information: 

Bay State guitars were made by the John C. Haynes Company which formed in Boston in 1865 and was part of the Oliver Ditson company. Haynes began making Bay State guitars in around 1887 and the brand lasted until 1904 when Oliver Ditson stopped manufacturing to become an agent of Lyon and Healy.

The Bay State brand name is currently owned by the Wells Guitar Company who manufacture vintage style acoustics.
