Martin Blackwell studied traditional Spanish guitar building techniques in Vancouver with Michael Dunn. Since starting building guitars in 1991 Blackwell's own style has refined itself into one that incorporates both respect for tradition with technical innovation.  Blackwell's yearly production is limited to a small number of handmade guitars.
