Robert Bouchet (1898-1986) was a painter in Paris who also played the guitar. He learned to make guitars partly by observing as the Paris-based Spanish luthier Julian Gomez Ramirez made him a guitar. He made his first one in 1946 and then a total of 156 in the remaining 40 years of his life.
