The Defil Kosmos is based on the Gibson Moderne shape, and was manufactured in the 1970s. The Kosmos has a black scratchplate with white edge, and two large black single coil pickups. It has a printed electronic circuit board beneath the scratch plate, with the four controls mounted through it. The two pickups are on play all the time. The rotary controls are Volume, Bass, Middle, and Treble. It has a 'V' shaped engraved stop tail, and a roller type bridge with adjustment for intonation.
The neck is a Rosewood with a 21-fret fingerboard, zero fret and large dot inlays. The headstock has the DEFIL logo, with six individual engraved machineheads with cream 'Tulip' style buttons.
In 2009 the secondhand value for a good condition model is less than £200.
