Bought new in 1996 in Hong Kong. Superb tone that has just improved with age. A manageable dreadnaught shape and excellent neck. This is "my" guitar when I'm writing or jamming. Amplified it sounds amazing. I love the "pop up" controls too which I've not seen elsewhere. Odd attributes - sturdy enough for heavy 13s and equally responsive with light strings, body is superbly percussive (if you like all that) and lastly the finish is superb when lit and unlike many other acoustic instruments I own the 1105 finish glows. Mine has over 20 years of use now and despite the odd ding and dent still gets admired and requests to borrow (I don't! Do not ask)

Best acoustic I have ever owned. Solid construction and the tone gets better and better with age. It cost me $1100 AUS IN 1994 and it was money well spent.

I bought it new for around $1000 and it is the only guitar I have kept all these years. That includes a couple Martins and a slew of other instruments. It has aged well and the tone only gets better. I have people commit on it all the time about how great it sounds, even better through an amp. it is always requested as a needed instrument to load up when I jam with folks.

1995 Fender 1105 SXE

Similar to other owners’ comments this is surprisingly the best acoustic I’ve ever owned or played. Bought it new and have gone thru various Martins, Taylors, and Gibsons (a few of which I still have). But, this is the loveliest, best playing, best tone of them all (at a fraction of the cost). Fender’s not known for great acoustics; but at least this one came out perfect. Snobby players wonder about it, until they pick it up and play it; then, they’ve all been as impressed as I was and still am.
