The Fender 40th Anniversary Telecaster was made in 1988. A limited production run of 300 were made by the Fender Custom Shop. These 40th Anniversary Telecasters had gold hardware, Texas Special pickups, 4-way pickup selector switch and a figured maple neck with abalone dots. Finish options were antique two-tone sunburst, natural or transparent red. Keith Urban owned a couple of these 40th Anniversary Telecasters.
