GIBSON 335-S SERIES (SOLID BODY)

The Gibson 335-S Series are solid body versions of Gibson's legendary ES-335TD.  Although they have the "Mickey Mouse eared" double-cutaway ES-335 shape, the 335-S bodies are smaller and thinner, but they have the same scale length and controls layout as the ES-335TD.

The 335-S was first introduced in 1980 towards the end of Gibson's Norlin era. There were three versions: the Deluxe, Custom and Standard which differed in woods, binding and hardware. The 335-S Deluxe was classed as a Professional Series model; both the Custom and Standard fell within the Firebrand Series. For this reason you will typically see "Professional" or "Firebrand" above the model name on the truss-rod cover.

In 2011 Gibson re-issued the 335-S with specifications similar to the original 335-S Standard but with sunburst finish and only one tone control.

GIBSON 335-S (Reissue)

Gibson reissued the 335-S Standard model in 2011 as the 335-S. The 335-S is a solid maple bodied version of the ES-335TD, with slightly smaller and thinner body but with the same hardware and controls. Desgined for players who want the look and feel of the legendary ES-335, but need a smaller, sleeker, solidbody guitar. The 335-S is finished with nitrocellulose Vintage Sunburst or Silverburst finish, pickups are "reverse-zebra-striped" burstbuckers.
