The original Byrdland model introduced in the 1950s was named after Nashville session guitarists Billy Byrd and Hank Garland. This model is a Gibson Custom Shop reissue. It has a reduced scale length (23 1/2”) and extra thin neck. (I'm guessing that Billy and Hank had small hands). The body style is archtop - but it is thinner than a typical archtop at 2.5 inches - and this helps reduce feedback. This model comes with either rounded Venetian cutaway or sharp Florentine cutaway.

The Gibson L-4 CES Mahogany was introduced around 1989 as part of Gibson's Custom Shop Carved Top Series. The Gibson L-4 CES had been around since the 1950s but was only ever produced in very small numbers to order. The L-4 CES looks like the ES-175 but has a solid spruce carved top and solid mahogany back and sides.

GIBSON manufactured the L-5 SIGNATURE (CSL5SGH) between 2001 and 2004

The legendary Gibson Super 400 CES is currently available from the Gibson custom shop. It is based on the late 1950s Super 400 CES and has the largest body of any guitar currently produced by Gibson (circa 2014), measuring : 18 inches wide by  21¾ inches long and 3⅜ inches deep.

Gibson introduced this Wes Montgomery Historic Collection model in 1993. It is based on the L-5 CES model that Wes played almost his entire career.
