The Gibson ES-775 is one of Gibson's lesser known archtops. The Gibson ES-775 was introduced in 1990 as a much fancier version of the ES-175, with upgrades including an ebony fingerboard and knobs, gold hardware, multi-bound headstock, deeper cutaway, trapeze tailpiece with ebony insert and slotted block fingerboard inlays. The neck pickup is moved right next to the end of the fingerboard to get a even mellower jazz tone than on the ES-175.

Gibson described the ES-775 as follows in their 1990 catalog:

"For an exquisite blend of craftsmanship, cosmetics, and that classic Gibson jazz sound, you won't have to look farther than the ES-775. Featuring intricate inlays, an ebony fingerboard, ebony control knobs, and real mother-of-pearl inlaid into the headstock, the ES-775 is destined to become as  immortal as the guitar itself.

2018$2500excellentDtraxeTobacco sunburst, the guitar looks immaculate, not a scratch or crack, however upon closer examination there was no pick guard, the bridge pickup did not work at all, and the 3rd and 4th tuning pegs do not work very well. I had a friend wind me a custom pickup based off of the 1959 ES 175 bridge pickup specifications. I absolutely love this guitar. Every time I play it I am blown away at how delightful it is to play. Interestingly enough it is a 1989 model and does not include the decorative florette at the top of the head stock, it has the usual Gibson crown type of inlay. The sound is amazing, I have always enjoyed Steve Howe's guitar sound and this baby NAILS it. They are going to have to pry this baby from my arms when I kick, with a guitar like this... who needs a wife?
