The Gibson Les Paul Studio Custom was made between 1984 and 1987. It was based on the Les Paul Studio model but had many of the features of the Gibson custom including multi-layer binding on the body and headstock, a bound neck, gold hardware, Tim Shaw pickups. But the fingerboard inlays were mother-of-pearl dots and not the block inlays you would have seen on a L.P. Custom at the time.
