GIBSON manufactured the Melody Maker Double between 1977 and 1983. There were small differences between this model and the previous version: the single coil pickups were embossed with the Gibson logo, all metal machine heads and an updated Tune-O-Matic bridge & stop tail piece. The timing of this Melody Maker reissue conincided with the emergence of punk: the New York Dolls, Television and Joan Jett were all seen playing Melody Makers.
