  • Gibson Tal Farlow (1963)

Overview

Brand name:

Product:

  • electric guitars

Series name:

Dates of manufacture:

1962 to 1967

The Gibson Tal Farlow model was first introduced in 1962 and production ran until 1967. The design was based on the ES-350 that Farlow used in the 1950s. The Tal Farlow was a limited success at the time for several reasons. Farlow himself had already retired from active touring and playing by the time his signature model was released, also large archtops were becoming less sought after by players in the 1960s. These 1960s Tal Farlows are the rarest of the Gibson's 1960s archtop Artist models: only 215 were made in total.

The Tal Farlow model is available today as part of Gibson's Historic Collection Series.
