Production of the RAMBLER MODEL 6115 began in 1957 and ended in 1961. The Gretsch Rambler had a single cutaway three-quarter size hollow body (13 inches wide). The maple body had single ply bindings, two f holes and a black pickguard with the Gretsch logo on it. The neck was maple with a 20 fret rosewood fretboard with white dot inlays.

The chrome plated hardware included  three-a-side tuners with plastic knobs, and adjustable rosewood bridge, a trapeze tailpiece with integral "G".

The single DeArmond pickup in the neck position was controlled by a volume and a tone control.

The Ramblers came with ivory finished tops, while the back, sides and neck were finished in either green or black.
