I also have a 93 DV62 Guild. Bought as new never used 23 years ago. I would put it up against any HD28 Martin. Many good bluegrass pickers have sampled it and agree with that statement. Trimmed out a little fancier than the Martin. I also have a D42 Martin so I'm not biased.

I bought mine in December 1993, so the begin date of 1994 is incorrect (and I don't know how long it had been hanging on the wall before I bought it). Excellent tone and construction. At around 25.6" the neck is a little longer than I'm used to on this style guitar, plus I have it strung with mediums, so it isn't as easy to play as others. I had been looking for several years all over the country for a rosewood guitar that had the sound I wanted, and this was the one, so even though it fights back at times when I'm playing it (probably me, not the guitar), just the tone makes it all worthwhile. It is an attractive guitar as well, so overall a win / win.
