According to Guild, the Stuart X700 Benedetto Signature model (a redesign of the Guild X700 Stuart by Robert Benedetto) was the ultimate in electric jazz guitars, the pride of our sound engineers and wood craftsmen. Its distinctive fast action, 5-piece neck is fashioned of select flame Maple with an Ebony fretboard elegantly inlaid with deluxe two-tone Abalone and Mother-of-Pearl position markers. The Stuart’s full Venetian cutaway body is 17" wide by 3" deep and boasts the same graduated, carved solid Spruce top as the Artist Award. Gold plated hardware and engraved harp tailpiece add the final touch to this superb instrument. Available in Honey Blonde, Antique Burst or Opulent Brown nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Also available as a single pickup model (model #3609501).
The X700 Stuart, Benedetto Signature model differed from the regular X700 Stuart model in the following ways: it had a longer 25.5" scale length, an all maple neck, Benedetto A-6 pickups, inlaid Benedetto logo at the 12th fret and a hand carved solid European sruce top (not laminated like the preceeding X700) and the back and sides were solid figured German maple.
I am guessing this model was made until 2006 (when Benedetto ended his licensing agreement with Fender/Guild).
