Information: 

The experience music project is combines interactive and interpretive exhibits to tell the story of American popular music. Featuring a world-class collection of artifacts, state-of-the-art technology, and exciting interactive presentations.

You can see guitars owned by famous players. The Jimi Hendrix gallery houses the world’s most extensive Hendrix collection. Highlights include personal letters, photos, early recordings, drawings and paintings by the young Hendrix, and one of his favorite 1968 Fender Stratocaster guitars.

The Quest for Volume exhibit presents a history of guitar amplification, from the 1770s to the present era. The 55 vintage guitars in the exhibit include the work of innovators like Orville Gibson and Leo Fender .
