License plate guitar acoustic guitar

This is an acoustic guitar, customised by riveting recycled vintage license plates all over it. It can't be played (the strings are aluminium and the bridge is made out of a harmonica), the idea is to hang it on the wall as an artwork. It costs $500, but custom options are available: you can choose the color or the state of the license plates.

FENDER SJ-65 S

The SJ-65 S is a super jumbo shaped acoustic. It has a solid spruce top with flamed maple back, sides and neck. Finish is natural gloss. Neck and body are bound. The fingerboard is rosewood with split block position markers. Scale length is  25.6 inches. Machineheads are gold die-cast units. The SJ 65 S was discontinued in 2002.

Gold Tone

Information: 

Gold Tone Banjos was founded by Wayne and Robyn Rogers in 1993. Both were active folk musicians in the 70's and 80's, they opened Strings N' Things Music Center in 1978. In 1993 Wayne designed the original TB-100 Travel Banjo and began manufacturing and distributing the "Traveler" mail order.

BADEN GUITARS

Information: 

TJ Baden founded Baden Guitars in 2005, after a spell as Senior Vice President for sales and marketing at Taylor guitars. Andreas Pichler (the precocious luthier behind Andreas Guitars ) works as one of Baden's designers.

Kantare Guitars

Information: 

Kantare is a classical guitar brandname used by the Finnish Liikanen Guitars company. Kantare guitars are made in Vietnam but the final set up and quality control is done by Liikanen Guitars in Finland. Kantare guitars use the patented "Lens Resonance System". The system is a mixture of double top and lattice bracing. This helps produces an even tone with lots of volume and sustain.

Togaman GuitarViols

Information: 

Togaman GuitarViols is the creation of Jonathan Wilson of San Fernando, California. During the 1990s Wilson experiemented with several designs for a hybrd electric guitar / viola with a fretted neck but played with a bow. Wilson patented the GuitarViol in 2003, the current version has a 21 inch scale length with specially designed Graphtech intonable bridge, piezo saddles and MIDI options.

HORA

Information: 

The Romanian Hora brand has been around since communist times in 1951. As well as producing numerous orchestral stringed instruments Hora make classical, acoustic and electric guitars. Hora produce budget instruments, the top of the range electric sells for around $270 (in 2008).

Atkin Guitars

Information: 

Alister Atkin started as a professional guitar maker in 1995, having trained at the London School of Furniture. He moved into Canterbury workshop of archtop maker Andy Crockett and began building a range of acoustic guitars. Inspired by the high build quality of Collings acoustics, he launched a range of six models in the late 1990s.

Highland Guitar Company

Information: 

Highland Guitar Company is a brand used for a range of Far-Eastern manufactured acoustic, electro-acoustic and electric semi-acoustic guitars. Prices range from mid $200’s for an entry level acoustic to the mid $800’s for a top of the line archtop. They use exotic hardwoods, Grover tuning gears and Fishman pre-amps. All the guitars are strung with Elixir® strings.

DOT ON SHAFT GUITARS

Information: 

DOT ON SHAFT GUITARS is the brainchild of Mike and Natalie Carparelli, and is based in Ontario, Canada. The Carparellis studied samples from 20 different manufacturers 5 different countries, before settling on a Korean manufacturer. They produce some interesting designs, including at least six double neck models.

LUNA GUITARS

Information: 

The Luna brand name is a Dean Guitars (Armadillo Enterprises) derivative fronted by Yvonne de Villiers a stained glass artist. De Villiers designed some inlay patterns for Dean and and they were spun into a product line of guitars.

Trevada Music, Ammanford

Information: 

Trevada Music sells a range of instruments. Electric guitar brands include Encore, Cruiser, Dean, LTD, Orange, Marshall and Kustom (available from their online shop), other brands might be available secondhand in the shop. They also offer a repair and maintenance service, tution and practice rooms.

Every guitarist has a wish list of dream guitars they are never going to own. Some guitars are just too expensive, like the Gretsch White Falcon. Some are just not for sale, like Jimi Hendrix's psychedlic Flying V.

The Buttocks Guitar

The Buttocks Guitar is a surreal electroacoustic archtop jazz guitar. It has a soundhole at the side, a round back (shaped like a pair of buttocks), the flat ended body shape means the guitar can stand up on its own.
