The Blackbird Rider is a compact, carbon fibre acoustic, which Blackbird claim sounds as good as a traditional, full-sized acoustic. Dimensions are 36" x 10.5" x 4.25" (scale length is a respectible 24.5" with 18 frets) and weight is 3 lbs. The recommended retail price (early 2008) is $1600, with an under-saddle pickup as a $140 optional extra.

Ben Crowe started Crimson Guitars in 2005, after managing Scorpion Guitars Ltd.He had become disaffected by the 'mass-production work ethic' at Scorpion, and established Crimson Guitars to make one-off custom instruments, and limited production runs of ten instruments of any single design. BLUERIDGE BR-40
The inspiration for this Chinese made guitar comes from the pre-world war II Martin dreadnoughts. The Blueridge BR-40 dreadnought acoustic guitar has a solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany back, sides, and headstock overlay.The body has 5-ply binding. The bracing pattern is said to be similar to the pre-war style used by Martin.

Specimen Products
The Specimen Products brand was born in 1981 when student artist Ian Schneller began using the name for his sculptures. Schneller began making instruments in 1984, first for himself and then for friends; before long he was selling Specimen Products stuff to local musicians.

The Pikasso I, is a custom-made instrument created for Pat Methney by Linda Manzer. It has 42-strings and three necks. Its name is inspired by the paintings of Pablo Picasso, where multiple views of objects overlap simultaneously in the cubist style.

Liutaio Mottola is the non-commercial enterprise of a former engineer, R.M. Mottola. Mottola started making stringed instruments in 1994 after an illness left him unable to work. Since then he has used a methodical approach to the investigatation of instrument design and construction.
