Crockett Guitars
Andy Crockett began his professional career as a guitar maker in 1975. He is best known for his range of JC1 archtops, made to a design by his long time friend and guitarist Jon Case (they built their first guitar together in 1964). The JC1 is influenced by the D’Angelico tradition, and is used by Jazz players like Jim Mullen. Custom options are available.
Rossli Guitar Company
The Rossli Guitar Company is an English guitar brand operating in Kent, producing small numbers of instruments. Rossli has been associated at various times with luthiers Robin Day and Andy Crockett. Limited information suggests Rossli guitars were being made in the early 1980s, so the brand predates this period.
Highland Guitar Company
Highland Guitar Company is a brand used for a range of Far-Eastern manufactured acoustic, electro-acoustic and electric semi-acoustic guitars. Prices range from mid $200’s for an entry level acoustic to the mid $800’s for a top of the line archtop. They use exotic hardwoods, Grover tuning gears and Fishman pre-amps. All the guitars are strung with Elixir® strings.
OVATION ULTRA GS
The GS was Ovation's take on the Fender stratocaster. By the time this model was made Ovation had outsourced the production of bodies and necks to Samick in Korea, but the final assembly was done in the USA.
OVATION HARD BODY SERIES
Following the demise of the Viper and Breadwinner models in the early 1980s Ovation was looking for a new direction for its solid body guitars. They decided to market three models as the HardBody series: the GP and GS guitars and the UB bass. The bodies and necks were made in Korea by Samick, and the guitars assembled in the USA. By all accounts these were well made instruments which failed to find popularity.
WILSON SAF 2 Nathan B
This was my first electric guitar. Before this I played a nylon stringed Spanish guitar, I felt the need to switch to something cooler. So it was in the spring of 1987 that I walked the two miles to Bob's music shop, on Carmarthen Road at the crossroads in Fforestfach, Swansea.
Wilson SA 112
The Wilson SA 112 was the 12 string model from the SA series. It was essentially the same as the SAF 2 and SAT 2. Aside from the extra six strings, the differences were in the 1.5 inch longer headstock and the non-Schaller machine heads.
