The Hofner Model 182 was a solid-body bass made from around 1962 to 1985. It had a solid body, polyester polished sunburst or ruby-colored finish, 2 special bass-sound pickups (182/E2 model), 2 volume controls, 2 tone switches and a rhythm and solo sliding pickup selector. When Selmer distributed this bass in the UK in the early 1960s their catalogs simply called it the Hofner Solid Bass. There was also a single pickup version the 182/E1.
