Only 52 Martin 000-28B Norman Blake guitars were made, in 2004, as part of Martin's limited edition series. Thier retail price was around $10,000 at the time.

The model has a Grand Auditorium 000-style body (with the neck joining the body at the 12th fret). The top is solid Adirondack spruce, the back and sides are made from Brazilian rosewood. Inside it has unusual soundboard bracing pattern with some scalloping. The nineteen fret ebony fingerboard is inlaid with diamond and square inlays. Scale length is 24.9 inches.

The tuners are three-a-side open-gear style Waverly-Sloane units having ivoroid knobs. It has a slotted headstock veneered with Brazilian rosewood to match the back and sides with a Golden Era-style logo

The bridge is ebony with fossil ivory bridge pins inlaid black pearl dots. Inside the label is signed by both CFM IV and Norman Blake and marked with the production number. This model was finished in natural polished gloss with aging toner.
