MARTIN introduced the D-28V (Vintage Series) in 1983 their 150th anniversary year. This was the first re-issue of Brazilian rosewood D models and the first model to use the-V-for-Vintage suffix on the model name. It used the original dreadnought body design, with rare Brazilian rosewood back and sides, herringbone body binding and a squarer headstock than contemporary Martins. These were made in very limited numbers and had a sound hole label signed by C.F. Martin III and C.F. Martin IV. Models made in 1983 had the 150th anniversary stamp on the back’s center strip. This model was made until around 1985.
