The Martin DXK2 was part of the budget X series. Martin used modern materials in its construction with Hawaiian Koa pattern high pressure laminate (HPL) top/back/sides, stratabond (plywood) necks and black richlite (phenolic) fingerboards. These modern materials means that the DXK2 does not require any finish.
The DXK2 was replaced by the DXK2AE acoustic electric model around 2010.

Bought a 2005 used at Music Go Round. Looks brand new. Has a big sound and plays easily. Made in the USA. Why spend a couple thousand or more when you can get a guitar like this for $350.
