1978 | $300 | excellent | Daniel | This guitar is a 1112-1 acoustic. My step-mother & I bought it for my Daddy from the original owner, who was a co-worker of Dad's - inexpensive 3-clasp case included. Dad played this guitar a lot for a few years, then occasionally for the rest of his life. It only ever left the house a few times, & that was for travel to friends' & relatives' homes. The guitar's in natural condition; no restoration work's ever been done. In other words, it's well-played & worn but damage free. Additional info: Dad played electric guitars on the bandstand & relied on acoustics for at-home pickin' (practice, serenading his wife, playin' along with Chet or Roy on TV, or Andrés on CD, etc. Also, he was fastidious about maintenance, including neck, nut, bridge, etc.) |

I question your timeline. I bought my Model 1112-1 in 1973.

I guess I've had this guitar for thirty nine years. Bought it new, Top hit the coffee table in 1985 and cracked. Kaman factory in Connecticut replaced the top for $100. Guitar is still in knew condition with barely a scratch and plays exceptionally easy. Great for smaller fingers as it has a narrow and shallow neck. Sound is unmistakably clear but not too boastful - kind of sweet, I think it is a female version. I have a 1994 Gibson J-30 Montana (rich sounding but hard to play), a Taylor 416 (great sound and reasonably easy to play) and a Martin DC16GTE (mediocre) also ha a Takamine DG334-CE which will be the first to go when I need firewood.
