PEAVEY produced the VANDENBERG SIGNATURE between 1988 and 1994. There were two editions of this model. The Vandenberg Signature first edition had a medium weight poplar body with a slightly arched top and "fiddle cuts". The body is back routed, so no need for a pickguard. The first edition of the Vandenberg model was came in 3 finishes: "gloss black", "sunfire red" and "rock-it pink". The bolt on neck was two piece laminated maple in a natural matte finish with an bony fingerboard . It was possible to adjust the neck tilt with an Allen key. The neck has a scale length of 24 3/4" with a flattened Hardware is finished in black chrome. The tremolo system was a Kahler 2700 (licensed Floyd Rose ) slightly recessed into the body. Pickups were a humbucker and single coil, both mounted at a 2 degree tilt angle which eliminates the string spacing problem of Gibson spaced pickups with Fender spaced bridges. The controls were 2 volume and one 3 way pickup selector switch.
The second edition of the Vandenberg signature had a slightly thicker body, neck and headstock. The Kahler 2700 was replaced by the Kahler 2730 SPYDER system. The lower corner of the left fiddle cut had a reduced angle for better playing comfort. More color options were added: Pearl White, '62 Blue, Laser Red and Raspberry Pearl .
