Hand painted Fender style guitars
Posted April 30th, 2008 by guitar-listInformation
These handpainted stratocaster style guitars are selling now on Etsy.com. They are made by gluing painter's canvas to the guitar body, the canvas is then custom painted using oil paints. The canvas surface is then sealed with a matte varnish. The guitar comes with just neck and body, without any hardware, for $380.

I found this one while browsing Guitar Blog , a fertile source for lovers of weird and bizarre guitars. This is a one-off concrete bodied guitar made by Parker Sloan. He made the body himself, by casting the body in a mold. The neck and other parts are from Warmoth. The whole thing weighs 7.5 lbs.
Build a home made CNC machine (JGRO router)

This project describes how to make a CNC (computer numerical control) machine that could be used to make guitar parts. CNC may not always be the most efficient way to make guitar parts (a band saw and pin router is often the most sensible way to do guitar woodwork) but they are a flexible way to convert complicated 3D computer designs into reality.
