The Teuffel Niwa is the most conventional of Uli Teuffel's guitar designs, having said that it is still a brilliant and radical modern design.

Body, neck, and headstock are alder, with pau ferro fingerboard. The three hand-wound pickups have pau ferro covers which match the three large control knobs.

The dramatically-shaped body has a sound chamber. The vibrato is a VG 300 knife-edge floating system. Inside the tremolo cavity is a rosewood backstop, you can rotate it through 180° to lock the tremolo block to prevent the trem pulling up (sharp) to allow a more percussive attack in the basic tone.  It also has a Schaller Sure Claw which allows exact spring adjustments with an allen wrench.

Finish options are apricot (orange), fire (red), sapphire (blue), olive (green) and charcoal (dark grey). This model was introduced in 2008 with prices starting around €5,200.
