The 5037 was a dreadnought style 12 string acoustic. The top was solid cedar (although this was changed to solid spruce from 1995 onwards). The back and sides are mahogany.The headstock has a rosewood veneer and 6-a-side tuners with amber tuner buttons. The nato neck has a rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, and a bird wing inlay on the 12th fret. The 5037 came in natural finish.
I don't know when the first 5037s were made, but they were in production by 1986. ALVAREZ discontinued the 5037 WILDWOOD 12-STRING in 1998.

2012 | $275 | excellent | Dawne | The tone is rich and full and the action is perfect. It's a joy to play. But it doesn't have gold tuners as listed in the description...they are completely chrome. Also mine has the Yairi (AY) in gold on the neck heel. Anyone have info on this? Serial #99550 |
1998 | $695 | new | MikeM | It is a beautiful guitar.. the older the strings the easier it is to tune and keep in tune. |
1997 | $700 | new | ||
1989 | $390 | new | P.Bower | List Price was $690 or so, was on a huge sale. The red tuners are the original tuners for the 5037, very unique. And the quilted wood pattern on the back and sides looks great. |
1990 | $400 | new | Not real sure on the price
2018 | $30 | good | What is the doller value of this 12 string?? Mine has a pick guard. Have not seen any other with a pick guard
2018 | $120 | excellent | Ryan P | got the guitar & a hard case for 120 total. UNBELIEVABLY Great Condition. m:5037 / s:95579 (so 1995 model?) |

I've got a '93: All laminate construction... spruce top, mahogany back and sides, converted to lefty by the factory (rare special order.) Sounds wonderful with Silk & Steel strings. A dream guitar for sure. Great value @ $350.

I own this magnificent guitar but it doesn't have gold tuners...they are completely chrome. Also mine has the Yairi (AY) in gold on the neck heel, but the inverted double A on the headstock. Anyone have info on this? Serial #99550
