The Aria Baritone Bass guitars were the inspiration of The Cure guitarist Perry Bamonte. Both Perry Bamonte and Robert Smith from The Cure played baritone basses and it was an important part of The Cure's sound. The BB-1000 was made in the Aria Custom Shop in Japan from around 2001 to 2007. A more affordable version was the BB-500 made in Korea.
