The Aria BB-1000 and BB-500 guitars were the inspiration of The Cure guitarist Perry Bamonte. Both Perry Bamonte and Robert Smith from The Cure played baritone basses and it was an important part of The Cure's sound.  The BB-500 was made in Korea from around 2001 to 2007. The more expensive version (the BB-1000) was made in the Aria Custom Shop in Japan.
