Alan Stewart Wilcox (born 1937) is an American classical guitar maker who has been based in Florence, Italy for many years. He graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in painting in 1963 at the University of Iowa. He went on to make his first guitar in New York in 1966. He is self taught and makes each instrument by hand. According to his website he has made 390 guitars in total. His guitars have been played by Andres Segovia, Oscar Giglia, Alvaro Company, Eliot Fisk, Alirio Diaz and others.
