Information: 

Aldo Illotta was born in Borgosesia, Italy in 1970, where he still lives and works. He graduated from the Civic School of Lutherie in Milan with a thesis on the guitars of the Guadagnini family of Turin. Parallel to his historical & theoretical luthier studies he learned the construction of the modern classical guitar with Carlo Raspagni. He also taught for 8 years at the School of Lutherie in Milan. In addition to the restoration and reconstruction of historical guitars and mandolins, he also builds modern classical and acoustic guitars including scaled down guitars for children. He exhibits and lectures at luthiery exhbitions & festivals. In 2003, he was awarded the honor of "Piedmont Artisan Excellence" for the construction and restoration of musical instruments.
