Azahar was founded as a small family business founded in 1971 by Joaquin Balaguer Martinez Gil and Aurelio Ferrandis, two Spanish. The company has grown over the years but the traditional processes of manufacture of the Azahar guitar have always been preserved. The company expanded in 1999 to allow an increase in production. Azahar now manufactures more than 30 different guitar models, both acoustic and electro-acoustic.
