Michele Benincaso was born in 1976 in Lucera, Southern Italy. When he was 16 years old he was inspired by Jaco Pastorius to remove the frets from his bass. This set him on a quest to understand how a mix of wood, electronics and metal can create such sounds in each instrument. After a few years studying classical double bass, he attended the International School of Violin Making at Cremona - graduating in 2000. All of his instruments are totally handmade and since 2007 he has worked in Stockholm at the SWEDISH GUITAR CENTER (Jam Akustiskt Roslagsgatan 7).
