Blue Lion was established in 1977 by Robert and Janita Baker when they set up a workshop in their old garage to make mounain dulcimers and acoustic guitars.
They initially expected to build guitars for a living, with an occasional dulcimer but the opposite has happened. They estimate they have built approximately 100 guitars since 1977 but over 4000 dulcimers.
