Julius Borges first learned guitar repair work while working at a guitar shop. His interest led him to a rent a small workshop space, and build up his tools and skills. He went on to work at Boston Cabinetmaking where he honed his hand tool skills while working on antique furniture and later at Ocean Woodworking. He then worked for Schoenberg Guitars and has been building guitars under his own brand name since leaving Schoenberg Guitars around 2001. Julius Borges is now based in Groton, Massachusetts.
