Information:

Brian Dunn's began guitar-building with a three-year, unpaid apprenticeship with master luthier William Cumpiano in North Adams, Mass., and specialized in steel-stringed guitars early in his career. In 1983 financial pressures and Vermont winters prompted him to move to Tucson where he opened an instrument repair shop co-located with Rainbow Guitars, and guitar building gradually was overtaken by repair work.

He stopped repair work in 2000, but was encouraged by Tom Patterson (music professor & head of the University of Arizona guitar program) to get back into classical guitar building. The University of Arizona’s renowned classical guitar program offered his classical guitars as prizes for their annual end-of-year competitions.

Dunn continues to experiment with variations of bracing patterns on his guitar tops, he also builds classical guitars with double-tops.
