Crafton Musik was founded in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1942 as a manufacturer of stringed instruments. Crafton made guitars including classical and archtop acoustic models from 1942 until the mid 1950s. From then on they tended to import their instruments and were more of a distributor than manufacturer (some Crafton branded guitars were made in Asia). In 1965 Crafton were the first European representatives of Ibanez.
