Information:
Andreas Cuntz began his scholarship as a luthier in 1994 at the Schack Guitars bass company, while also studying luthiery at the State University, Mittenwald, Germany. By 1995 he had designed his steel stringed acoustic CWG 23 model, for which he was awarded the national first prizeby German Chamber of Handicrafts in 1996. Andreas then went to work in the Gibson European Custom Shop before returning to his own workshop in 1997. 1999 saw the first Cuntz 12 string and Weissenborn guitars. In 2005, the ten year anniversary of the company and the CWG 23 model, Cuntz adopted a new headstock logo.
