Michael Curtheley makes steel bodied electric guitars in France. According to Curtheley the sound of his instruments is nothing like traditional metal bodied resonators and dobros but is closer to wooden solid body electric guitars. The rigidity of the body gives exceptional sustain with an echo that leads to light natural saturation (fitting well with blues and rock styles).
