Curtis Scoons founded Curtis Guitarsin 2003 in upstate New York. After many years of playing guitars and wanting a particular style he decided to create his own archtop. Initally Scoons concentrated on archtops but a request from a friend led to him to develop the SHB style of construction which looks like a solid body but has a light hollow body with acoustics similar to an archtop guitar. Curtis even offers a Klein style ergonomic guitar with SHB construction. All Curtis Guitars are hand built to the customer's specifications.
