David King has been making bass guitars since 1988 - he started out seeking to make a compact but aesthetically pleasing bass. Bass players were receptive to his designs & his Model A prototypes were bought by to Aston "Familyman" Barret and Jr. Marvin of the Wailers. Bass Player Magazine featured his instruments in April and August 1993 which immediately boosted orders. He currently makes around 12 basses a year, but spends most of his time doing R & D, paperwork and talking to players.
