Martin Wieland was born in 1958 and got interested in making guitars during the 1970s. He continued his interest in his spare time, while also working full time and eventually founded the Deerbridge brand. He chose the Deerbridge name due to his home town of Hersbruck (Hirschbrücke) which means deer bridge in German. Deerbridge offer a full range of steel stringed acoustic guitars, as well as acoustic basses and a Weissenborn guitar.
