Eric DeVine grew up near Seattle, in a family of construction workers where he acquired skills in woodworking, operating heavy equipment and mechanics. As a teenager he learned to play the guitar and eventually he dismantled it guitar to examine it and put it back together again. Eric moved to Kona, Hawaii in 1996 after growing tired of working outdoors through the winters in the Pacific Northwest. Eric, still working in the construction trade, immediately fell in love with the ukulele and the sounds and lifestyle of the islands. He eventually traded in his Electric guitar for his first ukulele. Inspired by the laid-back styles of ukulele and slack key guitar he started building instruments. These days DeVine handmade ukuleles have a worldwide reputation and DeVine can also customize them with a variety of detailed inlay to suite you taste. They also offer slack key Hawaiian guitars.
