Oakland based Dinette Guitars have been making retro styled electric stringed instruments since 1985. Dinette guitars often incorporate old found materials, including; Formica tables, discarded wood furniture , plastics , appliance & auto parts , metals , as well as vintage and modern guitar components . Instruments include 4, 6, 8, 9, and 12 string guitars, basses, electric sitars, and double-neck guitars , electric mandolins and ukeleles.

The guitar maker behind the Dinette brand has 30 years of experience in the repair and restoration of vintage Danelectro / Silvertone, Kay, Harmony, Valco, Teisco, Vox, EKO, and  other unusual U.S., Japan, and European made electric instruments. Design work includes the Dan-o-Wah and Wasabi pedals, Rumor bass, Innuendo and Hearsay guitars, paint colors and graphics for Danelectro. Dinette has also built instruments for Boz Boorer of Morissey, Peter Buck of R.E.M., Billy Bragg, Robert Cray, David Lindley and Bob Dylan.

Dinette instruments can be seen on display in Glamarama barbershops in Oakland.
