Tom Doerr made his first guitar in 2001, and three years later went full time in guitar building. A master class on top voicing in 2008 under the instruction of master luthier Ervin Somogyi took his building skills to another level. When he first began in 2001, he was influenced by luthiers Jim Olson and Kevin Ryan; and my first guitars resembled theirs in many aspects. And since 2002 he was influenced by other builders such as Jeff Traugott, Michi Matsuda, and many others learning to appreciate simplicity, along with details. This lead, in 2009, to his newest line of guitars.
