Christian Druery made his first guitar at the age 21 by following a library book "How to Build an Acoustic Guitar". He earned his trade certificate in furniture making and started on a career building furniture. Guitar making combines all of Druery's passions: music, design, wood, guitars and he specialises in acoustic guitars made primarily from local, New Zealand timbers. These timbers include fine grade quarter-sawn Kauri for soundboards, beautifully figured Ancient Kauri and or Heart Rimu for back and sides, and quarter-sawn Kauri necks.
